🔹 Narrow palate – Without proper upward pressure, the jaw doesn’t grow wide enough.
🔹 Mouth breathing – Low tongue = open mouth posture = chronic mouth breathing.
🔹 Dark circles under eyes – Poor oxygenation from mouth breathing impacts circulation.
🔹 Fatigue & poor sleep – Nasal breathing supports deep sleep. Mouth breathing does the opposite.

📌 This case involves a patient whose upper canine was prematurely extracted during childhood.

🔍 While that might have seemed like the best option at the time, it led to:
• A significant midline shift
• A missing anterior tooth, impacting both function and aesthetics
• The need to open space for a future canine implant

This is a technically challenging case. But what often goes unseen is the emotional toll it takes on the patient:
• There’s a period of treatment where she must live without a front tooth
• This affects confidence, social interactions, and daily comfort

That’s why what matters most to me is supporting the patient beyond just the clinical part.

Once we achieved enough space, we created a custom temporary crown — giving her a smile again during the process and restoring her confidence while we continue the journey to her final result.

STORY TIME 🥹

I’m a living example of how medicine can be as awe-inspiring as it is mysterious.

Around this time in 2023, I walked out of my doctor’s office with tears in my eyes and called my partner, my voice trembling. I had just been told there was something unusual about my uterus—something I couldn’t even fully process. The words felt heavy, and panic set in before I could gather my thoughts.

Motherhood had never been a lifelong dream, but at that moment, I felt ready. I believed I could be a good mother. So when I was prescribed six months of hormonal medication, I didn’t hesitate. I rushed to the pharmacy, picked up all the pill boxes, and went straight to my mom’s house.

And thank God for her. In her calm and grounded way, she gently pulled me back to my medical instincts and said, “Wouldn’t it be better to get a second opinion before starting something like this?”

The very next day, I was sitting in a new doctor’s office. After some exams, she looked at me with kind eyes and said she saw no issue with my uterus. She believed that when I decided I was ready to get pregnant, I would.

So I paused. I didn’t start the medication. It was optional—my health wasn’t at risk—and I chose to wait. I booked a trip to Greece with my best friend instead.

And one month after that trip, I found out I was pregnant.

Our bodies, the world, the timing of it all—there’s a kind of quiet magic to how things unfold.

Seeking a second opinion should never be seen as distrust or offense. Motherhood had never been a lifelong dream, but at that moment, I felt ready. I believed I could be a good mother. So when I was prescribed six months of hormonal medication, I didn’t hesitate. I rushed to the pharmacy, picked up all the pill boxes, and went straight to my mom’s house.

And thank God for her. In her calm and grounded way, she gently pulled me back to my medical instincts and said, “Wouldn’t it be better to get a second opinion before starting something like this?”

The very next day, I was sitting in a new doctor’s office. After some exams, she looked at me with kind eyes and said she saw no issue with my uterus. She believed that when I decided I was ready to get pregnant, I would.

1 - I cry with literally everything. I’m happy, I cry, I’m sad and I cry, I’m thankful I cry, I’m angry I cry. I’m a crier for literally every single emotion
2 - I get a bit too obsessed with habits. If I start a habit it really really gets almost impossible to break.
3 - I support toxic dynamics way too much and for too long. It’s like my mind becomes quite resilient and pushes myself to keep going even when it’s obvious it is being detrimental for me.
4 - I’ve a super strong sweet tooth. But like… strong strong.
5 - I’ve been actively talking to myself about aging and trying to break apart any fear or anxiety about it.
6 - I deal poorly with misogynist and condescending behaviour which is very challenging in dentistry
7 - When something is really bothering me I’ve to talk about it with someone until I get the matter out of the system. Even if it takes dozens of conversations
8 - I got a second phone to become my work phone, I made rules about my work phone so I wouldn’t be connected to my job the whole time. Now I even forget it at home many times 😅.
9 - I’ve always been a hermit inside an extrovert body. As time goes by my hermit is taking over
10 - I absolutely hate going to the gym and everything gym related
