DENTIST IMAGE
17 years ago, I was a university student, not in dentistry but in Architecture, with a skateboard in hand and artistic dreams in my heart. I never imagined myself becoming a dentist – the idea of health services and scientific fields felt far removed from my natural inclinations towards creativity. Growing up in Lisbon, Portugal, I was surrounded by art, and I never thought of following in the footsteps of my grandfather, a maxillofacial surgeon, or my dad, a lab technician. However, like many others from my generation, I faced the pressures of practicality and stability, which led me to switch paths. I applied to dentistry, influenced by family, and was accepted.

At first, I struggled to fit in. I didn’t connect with the culture or lifestyle of my peers, and I seriously considered leaving three times. But then, I discovered orthodontics, and it was there that I found my true passion. For me, orthodontics became the "architecture" of dentistry, blending precision with creativity in a way that resonated deeply with my artistic side.
Today, I’m on a mission to break the stereotypes surrounding the field of dentistry. It’s not all about rigid protocols or fitting into a mold – it's about blending artistry with science, pushing boundaries, and ultimately creating smiles that reflect individuality and confidence. The journey has been unconventional, but it's mine, and it's one I’m proud to share.
